It all started in 2007 when Field Notes co-founded Aaron Draplin, an American graphic designer made roughly 200 notebooks. Back then he made them on a Gocco press, which is a little japanese toy press, he cut the corners round and they looked pretty similar to what they look like today. He then, gifted them to some of his friends, one of whom was Jim Coudal of Coudal Partners, who then published a blog that gave Aaron an idea of opening up a business, and he did, with having 13 sales on his first day to present figures above thousands which all come with special designs and seasonal editions that are published four times a year. Overall, Field Notes is paper with personality, the vintage-inspired notebooks evoke nostalgia for an America before keyboards.

If bulky memo pads aren’t your thing then these beautifully crafted booklets will most definitely please you. From the plain papered pack to the mysterious unexposed selection, Field Notes have something for everyone.
